2nd Rat Race in Warsaw

The second Warsaw Rat Race - a charity fun run - took place on Saturday 8th May at Pole Mokotowskie. The organizers are the Sue Ryder Foundation and the Warsaw Marathon. Funds raised will go to the First Step programme run by the Sue Ryder Foundation and the Association of Friends for Integration. This programme enables recently disabled people to return to a more active life, through a modest donation allocated to a specific purpose.

The 3.5 km race gathered 36 teams, (firms and their employees, students and public sector employees). 'White collar' workers run in their regular office clothes, jacket, trousers, suit, shirt and tie - with their briefcase, sporting company logo. The winner were:

  • Dewey&LeBoeuf. (mixed team)
  • pilots from Dęblin (all female team)
  • pilots from Dęblin (all male team).

    Best second male team were pilots from Dęblin. Best second female team was Colliers International Poland. Best second mixed team was CB Richard Ellis Polska. Best third male team was Colliers International Poland. Best third female team was Moore Stephens Central Audit Sp. z o.o. Best third mixed teams were Colliers International Poland and Lizard. Trinity Corporate Services, Colliers International Poland, Moore Stephens Central Audit and Clifford Chance tied for the company with the most teams entered, all 4 entered 3 teams.

    The originator of the Polish Rat Race, Remco Van der Kroft, who brought the idea from Rotterdam, the Netherlands said, 'I am so pleased that this second edition of the Warsaw Rat Race again looks like it will be successful, not in the least due to the professionalism of the Warsaw Marathon Foundation, but most importantly, we will again be able to raise more than 40,000 zl for the First Step programme run by Sue Ryder Foundation.'
